Western Isles Transport Preservation Group
Western Isles Transport Preservation Group was established in 2000 with the aim of protecting and promoting transport heritage across the Western Isles. The main area of interest lies in commercial and plant vehicles that were or are used across the Western Isles, from horse drawn carriages to the present day.
The Group own a building which is currently being refurbished to open as a transport museum.
The Group have a collection of vehicles but also an extensive archive collection of photographs and information on island vehicles and garages that operated on the islands.
