Scalpay Historical Society




Comunn Eachdraidh Scalpaigh is a local history society that promotes the history, heritage and culture of the island of Scalpay.  The society was established in 1982 and was recently re-established as a Scottish Incorporated Charitable Organisation (SC048899).  Based in the Scalpay Community Centre, the society collects and maintains archives that preserve documents, artefacts, photographs and other material of historical value to Scalpay.  The society holds exhibitions and events for the local community and visitors that tell the story of Scalpay and its way of life.
