Archive records that have relevance to the Outer Hebrides are to be found across the Western Isles. These records are kept with local government, businesses, churches, charity groups, historical societies and private individuals. Records are also kept in Inverness, Edinburgh, Glasgow and further afield.
Later in 2012, an online database of the records held will be launched to provide easier access and better knowledge on where these records are.
